Up and Running AgainTue., Apr. 05, 2005 17:41:04 Finally! My computer works again. I'm begining to see the point of overnight shipping. I just waited 5 days for my new power supply to be shipped via ground.
As per my last blog, my power supply broke. Living without a [powerful] computer is much worse than it sounds, well the aftermath is at least.
Yesterday when I installed my newly shipped harddrive I had hours and hours of work to catch up on. This was hindered further by yesterday's high frequency of phone calls. I'm not sure why, but my voice was quite popular yesterday. Anyway, I had hours of work to catch up on. Most of it for Harbortronics, but a little for BioHealth. The stuff I did for BioHealth was miniscule, but the work for Harbortronics was quite substantial. I moved thier entire product line to my newly implemented shopping cart software, "hCart". About half my time spent was monotonous copy/pasting of product descriptions, but before that I had to migrate the shipping options.
They offer about 8 different shipping methods, all dependent on the country you need your product shipped to. I devised a mySQL table system to handle this. There is a column for each shipping option, and the countries are in rows. If a shipping method is available for a country, there is a price filled in to that field/cell. If the field is left null, then the option isn't listed in the shipping choices on the order form. Because mySQL is generally output in rows rather than columns, the scripting to run this table was slightly challanging. I did eventually come up with a way to assign the columns to an array, then output the array into a dropdown menu for html form selection. I laugh, yet pity those of your who just read that paragraph and didn't understand a single thing I was talking [or typing] about.
I finished this work around 21:00. Once finished, I was able to start on my non-work computer related projects. The comment script below was my main one. Surprisingly, this only took me about 15 minutes to write and implement. Good use of time. So uhh, use the new comments. I'm done writing for a while.
CommentsLOL! I totally read that paragraph and didn't understand any of it. LOL! It sounds complicated, so good work on that. Love the comment thing now. Can't believe it only took you 15 minutes. Thought you were dumber than that. Lol, jk, Tom. You know I love ya. Lola Sorry, I don't speak AIM. Tom Tom- totally cool blog, though I totally couldn't understand half of it. Oh well, I guess. You should totally put pictures on your blogs, like you did in the one about course 4. That would be totally awesome. You should like, take pictures of your computer or whatever. That would be totally cool. Hayden Blog about Hawaii! Tag hey, how about I give you feedback on this, and you give me feedback on my story? sound good? you need better transitions. otherwise, pretty good, except for the fouth paragraph. I have no idea what you're talking about there. The Ubiquitous Mr Lovegrove quotes would be sweet, too. although, I have a feeling I would be half of them, 'cause we talk all the time. but it's fun to laugh at what people say. I dunno if you could actually do like, a quotes page or something, but you could use them in your blog, like so and so said such and such. I dunno, whatever you want to do. it would be sweet, though Kine I could do a quotes page, but then there wouldn't really be anything left to differentiate between Scott's and my sites. I can't copy him that much. Sad though... Tom Hayward there would be so much difference between your's and scott's. they're so different. for example, your's has hot pictures of yourself, whereas scott's doesn't. granted, scott doesn't have any hot pictures of himself, but still. blog! blog about hawaii! Kandie Ouch. That stings. Scott Add Comment
