Servers SuckSun., May. 01, 2005 10:30:20 Servers suck. Well, mine does at least. I have a reseller customer with a couple of new, huge, forum sites. They're killing MySQL. Daily. I changed a bunch of values in the conf files to try and tone down MySQL load, and so far they're working. I'll be happy if I can get my uptime above 24 hours before having to reboot. That paragraph was just for you Scott.
Yesterday I helped with Robert's eagle project (Robert is a guy in my scout troop, and his eagle project is the service project he has to plan and complete to attain the rank of eagle). The project involved planting new plants in four erroded areas of a state park, then building a small fence in front of the areas so people don't walk on a plants. For an eagle project, it was short, but difficult. For one of the areas, it was only me and two other guys working on it. This area happened to be over an unofficial trail, so the dirt was extremily hard. We had to dig about twenty 12" by 12" by 12" holes in this to plant the plants, then had to dig two 8" diameter 18" deep fence post holes. The soil was a mix of gravel, clay, and a little sand. Needless to say, the shovels wouldn't dig through it. To get through this stuff we had to use a combination of pick and 6' steel spike. I couldn't lift my arms when we were done.
Don't even think of making me write a conclusion.
Commentsyes! new blog! sucks about the working on the project thingy though. that's got to be some intense labor if you couldn't life your arms. hope you're not like, sore or anything. that would suck. Kaiya Yeah I couldn't life my arms :) I'm not sore, but I was tired yesterday. Tom That first paragraph totally didn't make sense to me at all! lol! that's totally cool though. That project thing sounds like a lot of work. hope you weren't too tired! Hayden Add Comment
