 Pretty hot, huh? Yeah I think it is.
I got out of the hospital this morning, the day after my jaw surgery. They lengthened the mandibular so that now my front lower and front upper teeth align. They also widened it slightly by pivoting the chin. The chin is held in place by a metal plate, while the mandibular, which was split down center, is screwed in place. The illustration shows the mandibular extension procedure. I don't have a picture of the midline osteotomy (chin pivot procedure).
 My pain is surprisingly low, though the swelling is absurd. The worst part of this surgery was my hospital room mate. I think he was peetarded. That's like retarded, but when you just don't know how to pee. This kid peed all over the seat, didn't flush, didn't wash his hands, and couldn't even figure out how to turn the bathroom like on and off. The first time I went to the bathroom after my surgery I was dizzy and grogy so I sat down. Last time I tried that. I got this kids urine all over my butt. Yuck, like I wasn't uncomfortable enough already. I complained to the nurse load enough that he could hear me from behind his curtain. I stood the other times I had to go to the bathroom.
I've been eating with a giant syringe. For breakfast at the hospital I had cranberry juice, and when I got home my mom made me a bananna milkshake.
If my condition changes enough that it's worth writing about then I'll post an update. Until then, happy eating you lucky chewers.
CommentsOh, you're so swollen. It looks so bad. You look really stoned, too, but you probably are. I wish I was over at your house, though you'd probably just be on your computer or sleeping. How long is it until you can like, do stuff like ride your bike to work?
