All is Well Again

Fri., Sep. 09, 2005 20:14:51
All is well again. My face is back to normal size allowing me to eat a much larger variety of soft foods. My iPod syncs correctly following a recent firmware update. I've survived through the first substantial week of school. I'm most likely going to buy a Jeep Grand Cherokee within the next few weeks. And what is this, I'm writing a blog introduction!

I was planning on posting a swelling-free photo of myself, but I can't find my lens that is capable of focusing that close. Maybe this is a sign that I should clean my room.

My diet has semi-returned to normal: Pasta. Today I had a drinkable yogurt for breakfast, pasta salad for lunch, and buttered pasta for dinner. Not all days are this monotonous though. I'm managed to eat a chicken sandwich from Wendy's, a hot pocket, and cold cereal. My jaw still gets tired and soar after a meal's worth of chewing, often causing me to give up and call it a meal before I'm finished with the food on my plate. This is odd for me because I always used to clean my plate. Even with foods that aren't my favorite. My pain has gone down enough that I only take ibuprofen when I need it rather than having to take a regular dose. Another constant pain in my life has been relieved also:

I got my iPod to sync correctly! Almost the whole time I've owned my iPod I have been required to go through a lengthy process including restarting my computer every time I want to update it. The new iPod firmware released on the 6th fixed this problem (with a little extra encouragement from chkdsk). With the recent Podcasting boom, and the fact that I'd paid for this functionality, I'm ecstatic that I finally get to try it out. Being able to sync my iPod daily will be great. I've also been able to transfer the three new CDs I've acquired since my last computer restart onto my iPod. I got to listen to The Bravery at school today, and the Caesars at work. I listened to an NPR Podcast (nerd!) in the car after dropping my brother off. Last night when I got my iPod working, I waited about a full ten seconds to experience the full effect of the Diggnation podcast when listened to on the intended medium. I'm so excited!

Weekend two of the school year has just begun. Coming in at a full two days of school, the first week was a joke, especially when followed by a three day weekend. I've now completed the first [almost] full week of school and I'm glad to report that I'm doing well, although I have lost weight. Without the constant opportunity to eat, I'm taking in substantially fewer calories during the day causing my weight to drop again. I'm all skin and bones! School isn't that bad, although the homework level is greater than I had hoped for in my senior year. I have homework every night from AP Statistics, Speaking Skills, and Personal Essay. So far, Entrepreneurship, Decisions in the Marketplace and Newspaper have been virtually homework free. Regardless of homework, I think I'll like my classes this year. I like all of my teachers, which is a change from past years. Yes, I still have more time to develop hard feelings, but they all seem sane, knowledgeable, and adapt at teaching. I've set a goal of a 4.0 this year, and good teachers is the first link to this goal. When I develop a dislike for a teacher I tend to stop doing my work as punishment to them. The logic behind this is about as bad as the grade I receive. I just lose motivation; what am I to do? (Yeah, I know "My work". I just don't want to)

I'm about to blow my life savings on a vehicle. The vehicle of choice has changed from a Toyota 4Runner to a Jeep Grand Cherokee due to availability. I just emailed the owner of a Jeep listed on Autotrader, so I guess we'll see what happens next.

That's all I've got for yall tonight. I'll get a picture up when my resources and time permit. For now you can just look at my before picture and imagine me, just extended. Let me know about any great Podcasts you subscribe to so I'll have something to listen to during newspaper class.

I'm glad you finally got your iPod to work. It's been what, 7 months? Long time. I was totally almost going to get an mini iPod, I have $200. But I decided my need of a decent camera was far more important. You won't lose motivation this year-I have rewards for you if you get your work done. It'd be sweet if you could get a 4.0. And go to college in Washington. Get pictures of you, all my friends want to see how adorable you are now.
