Backups, Girls, and Naturopathic DrugsWed., Mar. 09, 2005 22:26:15 The nightly backup on my business server hadn't been running for a couple weeks like it should have been. I feel really stupid for not figuring out the problem for so long. After two weeks of thinking out what could have caused the error, it occurred to me that the backup server required a password change about two weeks ago. The username that required the password change happens to be the same user that the backup program uses for ftp access. Once I realized this and updated the backup program with the correct password, the backup ran flawlessly. I guess the old adage that have bugs, it's their programmers that made the error has once again proved itself true.
Girls? What a joke. I mean girl. Singular. Yeah, Elizabeth. She was mean tonight, and I promissed her I'd blog about it. She didn't reply to my IMs all day, and then this evening she said only one thing before saying "goodnight." What am I supposed to do all day without Elizabeth to talk to? Maybe I'm taking her wonderful company for granted when I complain like this. She really is great, and it's not like I'm here to talk to her that much. I'm always working. Yes, I do work at the same computer I IM from, but I usually ignore her if I'm working. Sorry for overreacting about that Elizabeth, I really should pay more attention to you if I expect you to do the same for me.
I spent the afternoon with Stephen taking pictures for orderpolymva.com. He has about 10 new naturopathic cancer medications to add to his site and he needed pictures of each product. Stephen took this oppurtunity to attain some needed photos for his portfolio. Stephen worked four or five hours on this for nothing but the gas I put in his car. This paragraph is kind of a "thanks" for doing all of that work for me, for little compensation. I guess that's what friends are for.
